2 things

I'm happy to say that I have once again been able to re-date the Polish tourist attraction I was unable to get a refund for, this time until October. When that time approaches I'll see if I can put it out again. Unusual but I'm not complaining.

There was also the accommodation I'd booked in Reims that was non-refundable, though they let me re-date. I'm happy to say though, that after a bit of toing and froing, and bearing in mind the continued uncertainty with Covid, they agreed to refund the cost. The change in exchange rate from almost 2 years back, has meant I lost about two quid on the deal but that's better than the fifty odd I was looking at.

All in all, not a bad result. Roll on 2023.

Plan C

C for cancellation. Given the current state of affairs, mainly outside the UK, and after discussions with 'er indoors and Grizzly, I/we have decided to give up on this tour, certainly for a couple of years and look to something closer to home. Keep a eye open for the UK Coastal tour, which will be launched soon and already has a Plan B in the pipeline. 2022 was already allocated to a tour of Italy, so the Blink tour won't go ahead before 2023. I'm gutted, as there were so many things in this tour that I was looking forward to doing/seeing. It can't be helped though.

Thanks for sticking with me and look out for WHUK2021.

That's all for a while.

Stay Safe.

Plan B

2 months on from my last update and we're are in another lockdown. Vaccine rollout seems to be going on pretty smoothly, so the future looks a bit brighter than it did at the start of the year. Maybe not bright enough though. Although departure is 4 months away, it is still uncertain whether or not Grizzly will be able to come across to the UK and also, whether the pair of us shall then be able to travel around Europe. Almost everything has been re-booked from last year, so we are almost set but it could still go pear shaped again. With this in mind, I am currently re-booking again, for Plan B, which will see us leaving these shores during the 3rd week of August. Thus far, I have managed to secure about 75% of the original hotels, having done about a third of the dates, so I'm fairly happy. The weather is a lottery whenever, but with pushing late into September, I'm hoping the autumn turns out to be warm and pleasant, in case Plan B needs to be invoked. To be honest though, I suspect whatever the weather, we'll just be glad to finally be on the tour.

More in a couple of months probably. Till then, stay safe everyone.
